Walking Through House Boheme Grand Entrance Feels Like Entering Another World

The first time you walk through our grand entrance at House Boheme, you might pause. Most people do. It is not just the architecture, though the timber framing and windows catch the light in a way that makes you stop and look up. It is not just the rhododendron and Indian Hawthorne framing the doorway, vibrant and wild against the structure. It is something else. Something harder to name but impossible to miss.

You are entering a world built by artists. A jewelry designer, a photographer, a pianist. People who see beauty differently and who built this place to hold it.

Stepping Into a Living Work of Art

We built House Boheme over time, with intention. The reclaimed timbers overhead came from somewhere before here. The tiger-wood bar in the basement was once the bridal suite bathroom floor. We salvaged it, shaped it, and gave it a new story. That is what we do here. We take what has lived before and let it live again.

Event Venue

The vintage Moroccan rugs you will see inside are over 60 years old. Their patterns have grounded rooms in other countries, in other decades. Now they ground ours. When you walk across them, you are walking across history. Not the kind you read about, but the kind you can feel under your feet.

The First Reveal: Those Sliding Doors

If the entrance makes you pause, the sliding double doors will make you gasp. We have seen it happen a hundred times. You walk through the main level, and then someone opens those doors. The whole mountain panorama spills into view. The Blue Ridge unfolds in layers, blue and green and endless.

It is a captivating surprise. We designed it that way. You do not see it coming, and then suddenly you are standing in front of it, and the mountains are right there. Not in a painting. Not through a car window. Right there.

People linger at those doors. They stand with their champagne or their coffee, and they just look. We get it. We do the same thing.

Textures That Tell Stories

House Boheme is not minimal. We did not strip things down to clean lines and space. We layered. We filled. We brought in hand-blown Moroccan glassware and ceramic dishware made by artists at Pineapple Studios. We hung woven fabrics. We placed African hand drums and Indigenous handwoven blankets where you can see them, touch them, and wonder about them.

Every piece came from somewhere. The barware was hand-blown by women in Guadalajara, Mexico. The willow furniture in the garden was handmade. The brass string lights and velvet lanterns cast warm light that feels like it has been here forever, even though we just hung them a few years ago.

This is maximalist design, but it is not chaos. It is curated. Every corner whispers of artistic vision, as one guest put it. You walk through, and you notice things. A ceramic bowl. A rug's pattern. The way light hits wrought iron. It keeps revealing itself.

Spaces That Flow Like a Conversation

The basement surprised us when we designed it. We did not expect it to become what it is, a space that flows out to a flagstone patio, perfect for dancing or cocktails. People love it down there. It has a speakeasy vibe, intimate and a little hidden, and when you step outside to the patio, you are surrounded by gardens and trees.

The bridal suite upstairs has those Italian wrought-iron glass doors that open to a balcony. The mountain views from there are sweeping. Photographers love that spot. So do brides who want a moment alone before the ceremony, a moment to breathe and look out at what is ahead.

The Peninsula Garden is 12,000 square feet of grass surrounded by fruit trees and blueberry bushes. We set up handmade willow furniture and cocktail tables with fringed umbrellas. It feels like an alfresco living room, a place where people naturally gather and stay.

Why It Feels Different

House Boheme provides an experience. That is what Ben Haney said after his event here, and it stuck with us because it is true. This is not just a backdrop. It is a place that asks you to be present, to notice, to feel.

We are artists, and we built this space the way we build art. With attention. With intention. With a belief that beauty matters and that it can be layered, textured, imperfect, and alive. We follow wabi-sabi, finding perfection in the patina of time. The vintage furniture spanning decades, the reclaimed wood, the rugs with worn edges. They are not flaws. They are part of the story.

When you walk through our grand entrance, you are walking into that story. You are stepping into a kaleidoscope of global influences, a sanctuary where every detail has a history. Moroccan bazaars, Mediterranean villas, Spanish architecture, and local ceramics. We pulled from all of it and let it dance together.

A Space for Your Story

We welcome everyone here. All individuals, all love, all celebrations. House Boheme is inclusive across sexual orientation, race, gender, and beyond. This is a safe space where you can be fully yourself, where your story matters as much as the stories in our rugs and reclaimed wood.
